Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment

EUC Inovação Portugal aims to make OPEN STAGE usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technologies. We use WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the current design target for the landing page while preparing for the accessibility requirements applicable to consumer-facing digital services under Portuguese and EU law.

2. Current conformance status

The OPEN STAGE pre-opening website is intended to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means that core design and content rules are being implemented, but a final automated and manual accessibility audit has not yet been completed for the production deployment.

3. Measures built into the landing page

• high-contrast Deep Blue and accessible Blue for normal text and primary controls; Sky Blue and Teal are used mainly as non-text accents
• semantic headings and a logical content order
• keyboard-operable navigation and visible focus styling
• a “skip to content” mechanism in the production build
• text alternatives for meaningful images
• form fields with visible labels and instructions
• no intentionally flashing content
• support for reduced-motion preferences in the web build
• legal documents available as downloadable files and web pages

4. Known limitations

• the final production site still requires Lighthouse/axe testing and a manual keyboard/screen-reader review
• legal PDF accessibility requires a separate document check and may not initially provide the same accessibility as the HTML legal pages
• video content, if introduced, may require captions and transcripts before being considered fully accessible
• additional language versions are not yet available

5. Programme accessibility

OPEN STAGE is remote-first and is designed to reduce mobility barriers. Where reasonably possible, EUC can provide textual alternatives to visual material, recordings or transcripts for selected live sessions, and reasonable adjustments to presentation format or project timing. Adjustments depend on the nature of the project and should be discussed as early as possible.

6. Porto Immersion Week and Campus access

A final physical-accessibility assessment of the H2M2H Digital Twin Campus is still pending. Step-free access, adapted bathrooms and other specific physical-access features must not be assumed until confirmed in writing. Applicants who require physical-access accommodations should contact EUC before confirming the Porto pathway.

If the Campus cannot reasonably meet a particular access requirement, EUC will discuss practicable alternatives, which may include remote participation or, where feasible and separately confirmed, alternative accessible hospitality arrangements.

7. Requesting an accommodation

You may describe an accessibility requirement through the optional application field or contact info@eucinovacaoportugal.com. Please provide only the information necessary to understand the accommodation you need. Health or disability information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Notice and, where required, on the basis of explicit consent.

8. Feedback and reporting barriers

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the website or in the Programme, contact info@eucinovacaoportugal.com or telephone +351 223 164 512. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback promptly and to provide a substantive response within a reasonable period, normally no later than 15 working days where practicable.

9. Assessment method

This Statement is based on an internal design review and the accessibility requirements built into the OPEN STAGE web specification. Before paid enrolment opens, the production site should undergo automated testing (for example Lighthouse or axe) and manual keyboard testing; the Statement will then be updated with the test date and material findings.

10. Legal context

Portugal transposed the European Accessibility Act through Decreto-Lei no. 82/2022, which produces effects from 28 June 2025 for covered products and services. The precise application of that regime to OPEN STAGE should be confirmed during the legal/technical launch review. WCAG 2.1 AA is used here as the programme’s current web-accessibility benchmark.
